Reliance Rail was awarded a public-private partnership contract to provide trains for the RailCorp-operated services in the Sydney metropolitan area. The project has already started and the first of the trains are due to be in service from 2010.

Audible, Inc.: Amazon.com announced the completion of its initial tender offer for all outstanding shares of Audible, Inc. The tender offer expired at the end of March 10, 2008. As of such time, an aggregate of approximately 20.5 million shares of Audible common stock (including approximately 773,000 shares that were tendered pursuant to the guaranteed delivery procedures) had been tendered into, and not withdrawn from, the offer. All of such shares have been accepted in accordance with the terms of the tender offer. The accepted shares, together with the Audible shares already owned by Amazon.com, represent over 87% of Audible's outstanding shares. As on March 11, 2008, Amazon.com will commence a subsequent offering period for all remaining shares of Audible stock.

Seattle-based online retailer Amazon.com announced Monday that it has completed its tender offer for all outstanding shares of Audible Inc., a provider of Web-based spoken-word audio. The offer expired Friday at 5 p.m. Eastern. At that time, Amazon explained, some 21.5 million shares of Audible common stock—equivalent to 86.9 percent of the company's outstanding shares—had been entered into the deal and not withdrawn. Those shares, combined with the 2.5 percent that Amazon owned prior to the offer, represent 89.4 percent of Audible's outstanding shares. Amazon said it will pay $11.50 each for those shares, plus a number of newly issued shares, to give it a 90 percent ownership. Amazon added that it later intends to complete the merger and make Audible a wholly owned subsidiary.
