Microsoft, Dyack: "Ecstatic" at Too Human Demo Response

TheGameReviews.com got the chance to sit down with Silicon Knights CEO, Denis Dyack, to talk about their upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, Too Human. One of the questions posed by TheGameReviews.com asked how the response has been to the Too Human demo that was released on Xbox Live to the general public this Monday to which he responded, by saying he is "ecstatic" about the response Too Human has had. He didn't give any specific numbers, but did ensure us that the demo has been downloaded "a lot."

Too Human Demo: Vindication for Denis Dyack

Consoleme.ca writes: Everyone knows the long and sordid history of Silicon Knights' new game for the Xbox 360, Too Human. It had a terrible showing at E3 in 2006, is part of a huge lawsuit against Unreal 3 engine maker Epic Games and is being led by one of the industries most outspoken individuals in Denis Dyack. Since that poor showing in 2006 Too Human has been on its heels trying to repair the damage done by an on-floor demo that was crippled by an incomplete Unreal Engine and in a form not ready to be seen by the public. For Dyack, this battle has raged on now for almost 3 years…and is finally about to come to its dramatic conclusion. The game is finally releasing in August of 2008 and, as promised, Canada's own Silicon Knights have released a demo for a game many not only expect to fail, but want to fail.

Too Human Did Not Take Ten Years

"Too Human's release on the Xbox 360 is edging closer and closer and with that, TGR sat down with Silicon Knights CEO Denis Dyack at this year's E3 to talk about the upcoming release of Too Human. One assumption that everyone makes in regards of Too Human is how long it took to develop, starting on the Playstation 1 and finishing up on the Xbox 360 with ten years of development time. We thought it was about time we got to the bottom of this and asked Denis himself."

E3 Continues Downward Spiral

Gamasutra is reporting that E3 is continuing its downward spiral due to forced downsizing of the show and limitations placed on attendees. While this year's show will be returning to the LA Convention Hall, the size of the show will still remain artificially small, which some are saying is stifling the spirit of the show. "These changes have in part been made to encourage the event as a more useful business event, but most of those interviewed in TheStreet.com article are critical of its continuing usefulness. 'E3 had much more of an impact when it was a show,' comments IGN.com vice president of games content Tal Blevins. 'The video game industry is about fun and entertainment, and we should have a show that reflects it.'"

Too Human Demo Finally Coming

Microsoft has announced that its "Bringing it Home" E3 initiative will start up this year on July 14. Through Xbox Live, gamers will be able to download various content from E3, including game trailers, news from the show floor, interviews, gamerpics, themes and demos.
