persona date has release
The recently announced Persona 4 has been given a release date here in the States for December 9th. This is rather surprising considering that the Directors cut/conclusion to Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, was just recently released State-side two months ago. For a title that has not been released in Japan yet this is amazingly fast localization time.

Once again, Nintendo has managed to shroud themselves in secrecy for this year's E3, leaving us all to guess their plans. The latest issue of NGamer, however, promises that Disaster: Day of Crisis will be at E3. And playable. There has not been too much information on the game as of late, the most of which only reported a delay in the Japanese release date. Since then, no new launch date has been scheduled and Disaster seemed to be heading for the vaults. But, if Nintendo does indeed have Disaster playable, this game - in addition to the the possibilities of Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Pikmin 3, and perhaps a new Zelda title - Nintendo will have a great E3 showing.

"Mandriva is proud to announce the release of Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring Alpha 2, marking the first public pre-release of the upcoming Mandriva Linux 2009. This alpha introduces several significant changes, most obviously the inclusion of KDE 4--4.1 beta 2, specifically--as the default version of KDE, and the latest development version of GNOME, 2.23.4. The kernel has also been updated to release 2.6.26rc7. We emphasize that the KDE change is a major one that is not yet entirely completed and likely to cause many bugs. As always--but more importantly than ever--we remind you not to use pre-releases in any critical situation; install them only on a test system or partition, or in a virtual machine. Additionally, we strongly discourage using this pre-release to upgrade from any earlier release of Mandriva Linux, as the transition process fr

The KDE Community today released KDE 4.1.0. This release is the second feature release of the KDE 4 series, sporting new applications and newly developed features on top of the Pillars of KDE4. KDE 4.1 is the first KDE4 release to contain the Personal Information Management suite KDE-PIM with its E-Mail client KMail, the planner KOrganizer, Akregator, the RSS feed reader, KNode, the newsgroup reader and many more components integrated into the Kontact shell. Furthermore, the new desktop shell Plasma, introduced in KDE 4.0, has matured to the point where it can replace the KDE 3 shell for most casual users. Like with our previous release much time has been devoted to improving the framework and underlying libraries on which KDE is built.

This would mean a release date a year and a half to a year in the future. Details are short at the moment, but the Gnome team seems to be following in KDE's footsteps, but hopefully will avoid the problems that plagued KDE 4.0's release."
