Kotaku: In 2006, the DS ruled Japan. (Heck, in 2007, too.) The hardware was hard to come by, and things got so back in 2006 that American DSes were re-imported into Japan to satisfy the demand. Things have tailed off considerably. According to Nintendo’s Q1 FY3/09 statement, DS hardware sales dwindled, moving 580,000 units in Q1 this year. In last year’s Q1, Nintendo moved a staggering 2 million plus DSes. Hardware isn’t the only thing that suffered; DS software sales are down as well. Last year’s Q1, 979,000 units of DS software were sold, compared to this part quarter’s 493,000 units of DS software.

Business and website go hand in hand. Website is the focal point of your business, interacting with your customers and clients round the clock. People judge you by your covers and this is where a good looking website design steps in. A professional website layout puts your business where it matters the most- in front of your customers and set you apart from the noise and clatter of your competition. How many times have you walked in a store which appears shabby? I bet you avoid stepping in, leave alone doing business with them. The same rule applies to your website- it is your virtual storefront and by designing an eye catching website, you are bound to turn a few heads and keep visitors coming back.

los angeles • Google Inc opened its website Knol to the public on Wednesday, allowing people to write about their areas of expertise under their bylines in a twist on encyclopedia Wikipedia, which allows anonymity. “We are deeply convinced that authorship — knowing who wrote what — helps readers trust the content,” said Cedric DuPont, product manager for Knol. The name of the service is a play on an individual unit of knowledge, DuPont said, and entries on the public website, http://knol.google.com, are called “knols”. Google conducted a limited test of the site beginning in December.

In today’s competitive world, the most important presence for a corporation is their website. It not only acts as a face for the company but also as an interface enabling its clients, users, and prospects to communicate with the company. As websites are accessible to users via thin clients such as web browsers, the quality and reliability of a website are paramount to its success. To ensure this, rigorous testing becomes more of a necessity than a choice. However, the technical complexities of a website and the variety of browsers make testing a challenging proposition. This warrants the need for specific tools and methods to test specific functions.

Here's the deal. Yesterday an advertisement was floating around showing a Nintendo DS that had bigger, wider screens. They didn't look quite 16x9 as the gaming blogs were claiming, and the whole ordeal could have been a pretty quick Photoshop blunder by a third party software designer. Anyway, a lot of people ended up running the story, so I thought we should let you know about it in the remote case that a.) someone at work was talking about a widescreen DS or b.) it somehow ended up being real. Nintendo has called the device "purely rumor and speculation." I just think it's funny that the DS in the ad is out of battery. [aeropause and eurogamer via kotaku]

That, my dear friends, is what we in the business like to call "Hope for the Future." In what was looking like it would be a huge slump for the DS, with all the Zeldas and Star Foxes and Advance Wars done and gone, it was looking like the DS was going to end up in a Yankees-like rebuilding year with everyone involved denying this was the case. But Square-Enix has dropped a proverbial bombshell on us with what appears to be a teaser site for a DS installment. Clearly, there isn't any sort of information regarding...anything. No screens, movies, info...or even actually saying that it is, indeed, Chrono Trigger (though the clock and the "CTDS" at the end of the URL suggest it). Expect some info to come up during E3. In the meantime, check out MyGamer for more updates as they come available.

You know that the iPhone is powerful enough to render 3D games like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, as well as various other ones we covered in the marathon review session, but just how powerful is it? How does it compare to actual gaming handhelds like the Nintendo DS and PSP? An EA developer put it this way. On a scale of the three, it's in between the DS and the PSP, but sliding more towards the PSP. That's right. In terms of power, you can expect to see games that look at least as good as the DS once developers get enough (read: more than four months) development time with it.

If you have recently established a website for your first internet business, adding a simple web form to your website, such as a feedback form, contact form, or other online form, can be a tough task. Most programming novices create their first website using pre-developed templates and have no advanced knowledge of HTML programming. As a result, creating a simple web form that can email the form responses to the webmaster can be a difficult and frustrating task. If you just posted a new website, but you do not have a web form uploaded and you need to quickly provide a way for your visitors to contact you, then you should simply post your email address on your Contact page. However, if you want to create a sophisticated online form to collect information from your visitors and respond to their questions, you need to know something about HT
