Despite all the mindless droning about the New England Patriots maybe taping this one thing at some time, this one guy said (possibly)...and despite Al Davis successfully destroying the Oakland Raiders for years to come...the one story to top all others for this year's NFL off-season was Brett Favre's retirement. While somewhat disheartening to see the best of football (that is the embodiment of, the spirit and grit that, ideally, every player should have) hanging it up, it made perfect sense for the Packers and for Favre to start Aaron Rodgers, who could lead that Packers team for years to come. But this isn't ESPN! This is MyGamer! And if you couldn't tell by the title, Brett Favre is the man on the cover of Madden 2009.

Sony doesn't get it. Just as a leopard can't change its spots and the new metallic blue version of Sony's PSP coming out on August 21 for the 20th anniversary of Madden NFL won't change much that's wrong with the PSP either. In conjunction with the PSP launch Sony and EA have also announced they will team to produce a $200 Madden NFL 09 PSP Entertainment Pack. The pack includes includes a copy of Madden 09, a UMD video called NFL: In Just One Play, a voucher to download "Beats" from the PlayStation Store and a 1 GB memory stick.

Sony today gave the PSP a seasonal update with the introduction of the Madden NFL 09 PSP Entertainment Pack. The special-run version of the handheld console gives the PSP a metallic blue tint and ships the system with enough to get the user started on the game: in addition to the new Madden sequel, the Sony bundle comes with a 1GB Memory Stick to save games and an UMD video disc of the NFL's In One Play.
