Alone in the Dark PC Requirements: related news

Alone in the Dark stumbles blindly

Before there was Resident Evil and Silent Hill, there was Alone in the Dark, a classic PC horror game with amazing (for the time anyway) graphics and a spooky occult-based storyline. The hero, Edward Carnby, is back for another adventure on the next-gen consoles and while his reappearance should have raised the Alone in the Dark franchise back to its hair-raising heights, he instead staggers through an inconsistent and bitterly disappointing odyssey that's hobbled by a dreadful lack of focus.

An updated Atari release schedule has revealed that Alone in the Dark for PS3 - recently released for Xbox 360, Wii, PC and PS2 - is pencilled in for release in Q4 2008. This means PS3 gamers won't be getting their hands on the title until October at the earliest.

Large Hadron Collider Could Generate Dark Matter

One of the biggest questions that occupy particle physicists and cosmologists alike is: what is dark matter? We know that a tiny fraction of the mass of the universe is the visible stuff we can see, but 23% of the Universe is made from stuff that we cannot see. The remaining mass is held in something called dark energy. But going back to the dark matter question, cosmologists believe their observations indicate the presence of dark matter, and particle physicists believe the bulk of this matter could be held in quantum particles. This trail leads to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) where the very small meets the very big, hopefully explaining what particles could be generated after harnessing the huge energies possible with the LHC…

New Study Finds Clumps and Streams of Dark Matter in the Milky Way

One of the leading theories for how the universe evolved after the Big Bang is the Cold Dark Matter Theory (CDM). This theory proposes that chilly dark matter moved slowly in the early universe, allowing matter to clump together to form the clusters of galaxies that we see, instead of matter being distributed evenly across the universe. Using the properties of the CDM theory, astronomers recently ran an intensive computer program using one of the world's most powerful supercomputers to simulate the halo of dark matter that envelopes our galaxy. The simulation revealed dense clumps and streams of the mysterious dark matter lurking within our Milky Way galaxy, including the region of our solar system.

Alone in the Dark may debut with budget price

PS3 Fanboy writes: "The long-delayed PS3 version of Alone in the Dark looks to be coming with enhancements ... and a price cut? A Gamestop listing shows Atari's survival horror game with a very nice price of $30. Of course, considering the overwhelmingly negative critical reviews it received when it debuted on Xbox 360, a lower price may still not justify a purchase."

Alone in the Dark needs to take "major step," says Villette

Antoine Villette, founder of I Am Alive developer Darkworks, has told VG247 he believes Alone in the Dark can still be great, but only if Atari is prepared to make radical changes to its format.

Mass Effect is simply one of the best PC games I have ever played.
