A typical Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) deployment is an architecture that provides fast recovery from a single or multiple-node failures. But in a typical scenario, all nodes of Oracle RAC are located in a single data center and thus prone to catastrophic data center failure. The solution for achieving disaster recovery in this scenario is to set up Oracle DataGuard between the local data center and some backup data center where standby systems are running (typically a single Oracle database or another RAC cluster).

I got this exception in the production twice in the same week and created a huge log file with the exception stack trace until the space available.As a result the production server went down.I was unable to start the production server due to lack of space on the mounted disks. I have deleted very old log files for making some free space and then able to start the production application server and run. I am using connection pooling to connect with Oracle 9i from weblogic 9.2 server. I am willing to know the root cause for this issue.I thought of simulating this issue by restarting the oracle database when the application server(weblogic) is still up and running with the old connection pools.But couldn't simulate the issue again?

In the early days of desktop virtualization, there were few low-priced alternatives to VMware Workstation that didn't involve a steep learning curve. Even the freely available VirtualBox didn't affect Workstation's market domination and instead faced competition from the newly rebranded VMware GSX server, which was offered for free as VMware Server. Despite being an entry-level server virtualization product, many people used VMware Server on the desktop. Taking that into consideration, you have to look at the recently released VMware Server 2, from two angles -- as an entry-level server virtualization platform and as an alternative to desktop virtualization products like VirtualBox. With its performance and other improvements, it does enough to keep existing customers happy, but probably not enough to get others to switch.

The paper has developed an infrastructure that simultaneously captures both the application context as well as the database context, thereby enabling a rich class of tuning, profiling and debugging tasks that is not possible today. The paper has built a tool using this infrastructure that enables developers to seamlessly profile, tune and debug ADO.NET applications over Microsoft SQL Server by taking advantage of information across the application and database contexts.
