Intel has formally launched Centrino 2 - actually the fifth incarnation of its laptop platform technology - and the world's notebook makers will be rolling out 'Montevina'-based machines throughout the week.

The OpenedHand team will become part of the Intel Open Source Technology Centre and will focus on development of the Moblin Software Platform, the optimised software stack for Intel Atom processors. Yahoo! Inc. announced that it will offer users the ability to opt-out of customized advertising on Yahoo.com. This new option expands Yahoo!'s existing opt-out program for customized advertising served by Yahoo! on third party networks.
