DPS Meeting Day 0: James Webb Space Telescope Workshop

Friday, October 10th, was "day zero" of the conference, when many formal and informal workshops are held. I attended a workshop titled "Observing Planets (wherever they may be) with James Webb Space Telescope." The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is the planned successor to the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). It was conceived as the next-generation space telescope after Hubble (in fact, it used to be called the NGST) and is an upgrade to HST in many ways. At the workshop, we heard updates on its capabilities and also had the chance to voice some suggestions we have about making the telescope more useful for planetary observations.

Bhopal, Oct 18: At Swaraj Bhawan located at Ravindra Bhawan premises, a National Portrayal Workshop on freedom struggle is going on organised by the Madhya Pradesh Cultural Department. At this workshop, everyday some new colourful portraits are being painted. Some well-known painters came from various parts of the country are engraving the paintings of freedom fighters on canvas in good manner. The workshop will continue till 19th October. Its main motive is to cherish the sacrifice of martyrs and freedom fighters who are being forgotten by the young generation. In this connection, Bhopal Today Team met and talked to some artists to know their feelings during painting the portraits of the freedom fighters.

Graphic art is little vary from painting

Bhopal, Oct 13: At Bharat Bhawan, some or the other programmes and workshops on different topics are frequently conducted for the people. These days also workshop on graphic art is being organised at Bharat Bhawan. The workshop has begun from 11 October and will continue till 13th October. At this workshop, 12 participants are attending from 10 regions. This technique is much different from other arts, but paintings made on the medium of this art create unique impression in itself. The art is completely not as painting. The technique of graphic art grants the freedom of making various copies from one copy. The roots of this art are deeply embraced in Madhya Pradesh.

This workshop is organised by South Central Zone Cultural Centre Nagpur, and Ministry of Culture of the Government of India. Some renowned graphic artists of the country are attending this workshop and they are showing various artistic colors here.
