S'mores are definitely one of my all-time favorite snack foods and this weird Progressive International Microwavable S’Mores Maker claims to make 2 perfect s'mores in 30 seconds flat because the little "arms" keep the marshmallows from expanding to much. I still think you need a fire to make perfect s'mores, not some gadget that looks like a melted Mr. Potato Head—but if you insist on throwing your money away, the PIMSM can be had for $6.95. Gori writes "I'm a researcher at a university. Our group mainly does Agent Based Modeling of interdisciplinary problems (think massive simulations where technology, policy, and economics meet). Recently, we managed to get a bunch of money for a High Performance Cluster to run our stuff on. The code is mostly written in Java. Our IT support people are very capable of setting up a stable cluster that will run Java perfectly. But where's the fun in that? What I'm trying to figure out are other, more far-out and interesting things to do with this machine — think 500+ Opteron cores, 2 GB RAM per core, a gigabit interconnect with some badass switches, a massive storage array, plus a bunch of UltraSPARC boxes. So at times when there's no stuff to crunch, I'd like to boot the thing up with a 'weird' system image and geek around in the name of s

The Beijing Olympics has been dubbed "the first ever Web 2.0 games." But while approving athlete blogging at the event, the International Olympic Committee has restricted what can be posted to the blogs. Alexandra Orlando -- a rhythmic gymnast with team Canada -- calls that "weird."

We're going to get weird this month. OK, maybe "weird" isn't the best word to use. How about "outlandish," "cutting edge," or "fascinating"? Typically, we cover one artist per issue, and the work tends to be vehicles that are creative, unique customs, or forward-looking OE concepts rendered by someone working on the outside of the auto industry and looking in. This time we snagged a couple of ideas from the creative studios of the largest automaker in the world.

I purchased this a few years back as a project but it just ended up sitting in my closet. This is a rare Xentex Dual Screen Laptop. Each screen is 13.3" and one pivots so that one can be facing you and the other one facing the person sitting on the other side of the laptop. This was a prototype and is missing some parts but does turn on so I have no doubt someone can make this work with the right skills.

If you've recently shelled out for a 3G iPhone, or simply fancy a new app, here's one for you: the Dark Knight application. A marketing tool for the movie, it allows you to 'jokerise' yourself in a few swift moves. For a frightening new profile, merely start up the app, take a photo of yourself (using the camera if you're on an iPhone, or a saved picture if you're using an iPod touch) and add Joker elements to your face. Time well spent indeed.
