Vodacom has extended its 3G HSDPA coverage beyond the major metropolitan centres. In December Jongensfontein, Franskraalstrand, Citrusdal and Saronsberg were added to its network. Lamberts Bay and Veldrif will receive coverage in January.

Vodacom this week announced the launch of a prepaid option for BlackBerry internet in South Africa.
