New Delhi, Jun 29 (PTI) With intelligence agencies warning that terrorists and anti-socials may use residential premises to hide, Delhi Police has asked residents to ensure police verification of their tenants or face imprisonment. Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal has asked the Deputy Commissioners of 10 districts in the capital to launch a drive to check whether the verification of the tenants were carried out. The drive to check the antecedents of thousands of tenants living in the capital have been intensified along with servants' verification, Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said. Landlords who were found not verified their tenants could be in trouble as they may land in jail for a period of six months under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
