In response to Electronic Arts' announcement, Take-Two said that the recommendation of its board of directors to stockholders not to tender their shares to the offer remains unchanged. Take-Two, the publisher of the "Grand Theft Auto" series, has been resisting the hostile $2 billion buyout.

The Effects of Censorship — a Tale of Two Websites

An anonymous reader writes "Two message boards devoted to the same topic have each been on-line for roughly eight years. One is censored, and the other is not. The two forums are virtually the only ones devoted to their topic (polygraph testing, a fairly arcane one), so they're in "competition" only with each other. The result? The uncensored forum has more than six times as many posts as the censored one." To be fair, there are a few other differences between the two forums, but the point may still be valid.

Do you know much about two-factor authorization? Using an ATM is a good example: You must have a card (factor one) and know the PIN (factor two). It's an excellent security approach ... but how can online financial operations like banks implement the paradigm without installing a card reader in every home? An excellent article in Windows IT Pro introduces Positive Networks Inc. and its new product PhoneFactor, which lets you add two-factor, telephone-based authentication to a broad variety of applications — using an automated phone call to the user as factor two. A basic version of PhoneFactor is free to download and use, though you must pay for full-featured editions.

Old warhorses look to shine

India begin their three-Test series at a venue where they have suffered their worst loss against Sri Lanka; the last time these two sides played at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo, India were trounced by an innings and 77 runs. Sri Lanka have won just three of their 26 Tests against India but won the previous home series against the same opponents 2-1. One Arrested and Two Sought By Police After Arts Festival Robbery

If you read the newspaper or check online news sources frequently you have probably already noticed that there has been a lot of strange criminal activity going on lately. Many of these criminal escapades have been so odd in fact that I can only conclude that most of these crimes are driven by narcotics in one way or another. For example the Fire Arts Festival in Los Angeles that was held in the 1200 block of Seventh Street is where two women were leaving and returning to their vehicle when they were accosted and robbed. In connection with this robbery and assault one man has been arrested and police are seeking two other people that were involved in the incident.
