We thought that perhaps Sony Ericsson was playing tricks on us when we found the European X1i (review) to work over AT&T HSDPA. We're still not sure if the "i" still has that UMTS850 band...but to play it safe, if you're in the US, the X1 "a" is your best option (if you can get a hold of one, that is).
