According to one report, the answer to that question is a resounding no. A recent report from Marketing Sherpa indicates that ecommerce marketers are not taking full advantage of tools that would give them a clearer picture of their target consumers. By not taking advantage of that information marketers are doing their business a disservice.

If yesterday’s activity is any indication, I don’t think Apple will have any trouble selling 10 million iPhones before the end of the year. The communications device seems to be taking over the world. And, hopefully, the Mac will ride along on its successfully coat tails.

"Less than a year ago we shared with you the revolutionary steps AMD was taking to deliver significant improvements to their once infamous proprietary Linux display driver and at the same time the work they were doing to foster the growth of an open-source driver for their latest graphics card families. These steps have certainly paid off for both AMD and the Linux community at large. AMD's proprietary driver is now on par with NVIDIA's Linux driver and there are two open-source ATI drivers picking up new features and improvements on an almost daily basis. AMD also continues to publish new programming guides and register information on a routine basis for their latest and greatest hardware. This has been truly phenomenal to see, but AMD has now evolved their Linux support by taking it a large step further.

Apple’s iPhone is far from and probably never will be the mobile market leader in unit sales. Nor does it have the industry’s most impressive raw specifications, the lowest price or the widest carrier availability. In the latest version, iPhone 3G, users still can’t cut-and-paste. Yet everywhere you look, people wonder what it will take for a handset maker to deliver an iPhone killer, or if it’s pointless to try.

Newly discovered genetic variations can impair an enzyme whose malfunction has been linked to birth defects and heart disease--but added nutrients can reverse the effect, according to new research. The findings could signify a step forward for nutrigenomics, a growing field examining how our diet and genes interact to affect our health. Scientists hope that nutrigenomics research will one day help people overcome some of their genetic foibles with personally tailored cocktails of vitamins.

Vinay Kumar Tripathy does not fit the copybook description of the absent-minded scientist. At 72, the CEO of Virtus Techno Innovations, a company specialising in applied nanotechnology, stands tall and fit. He is excited at the prospects of bio-mimicry, a science so esoteric that most laymen would label it science fiction. Today, he thinks, his company is close to finding a solution to an age-old human quest—of being able to arrest the biological ageing process.

Skyrocketing energy costs. Carbon footprints. Global warming. We're consumed with the concerns about consumption of energy. And well we should be. Our industries, our economy, our lifestyles and our environment are on the line. Some of the best minds on the planet are pursuing solutions -- and a number of them, I'm proud to say, are nanotechnology based. This month, I'll be part of a panel discussing Thermal Nanotechnology Solutions at NanoBusiness 2008, a gathering of some of the best scientific and business minds in nanotech. As excited as I am to share information about work on a nanofilm for windows to lower energy needed for heating and cooling, I'm more excited to hear about the work others are doing. I've been investigating some of the technology on the agenda, and it's pretty hot stuff.
