The High Court ruled that the publisher has rights to the map and restrained Mount Kenya Sundries from distributing and selling it. Mount Kenya was also ordered to account for profits accruing from the map's sales. Justice Alnashir Visram found Mount Kenya Sundries guilty of infringing on Macmillan's copyright in two of its maps known as 'Kenya Tourist Map' and 'Kenya Traveller's Map'.
