Finetune is one of the increasing number of sites that lets you hear songs you don't own, for free. It's got about 2 million songs from all four major labels and many indies. How does it stay out of the legal crosshairs of the recording industry? By restricting you to building playlists with a minimum length of 45 songs (although there's an "I'm Lazy" button that fills in a partially completed playlist with similar selections--mostly songs from the artists you've already picked). The playlists can have no more than three songs from the same artist, you can't have the same song on two playlists, and they play in random order.

My MP3 collection is about as eclectic as they come. I've got songs ripped from CDs, songs downloaded from countless online stores, and songs collected from, oh, let's say points unknown. Consequently, the volume levels are inconsistent across the library: Some songs are too loud, some are too soft, and some are juuuuust right.

Thanks to a f*****g stupid error, the iTunes Music Store in the UK has accidentally censored thousands of songs, albums, and artists' names. Innocent songs—like Danny Kaye's "I Thought I Saw A P***y Cat"—and not-so-innocent ones—like Nirvana's "Smells Like T**n Spirit"—have been asterisked by what an Apple spokeswoman has described as a "database glitch". Why "teen", "hot" or "Johnny" can be considered offensive, I really don't have a flying f**k, but things look rather silly in there:

It is very easy to create free ringtones for your iPhone 3G using only iTunes and songs you already have on your computer. This tutorial shows how to perform step by step. It only works with songs that are DRM free. To create ringtones using DRM protected songs, you need first strip the DRM off and then follow the guide. This method has been tested and works with iTunes 7.7.1 and iPhone 2.0.1 firmware. Actually, my friend told me he had tested it with iTunes 8 and it worked smoothly as well, though there were several differences in making settings due to the update of iTunes.

LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC), comprising Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Syed Asghar Haider, on Monday (tomorrow) will hold proceedings on an inter-court appeal (ICA) against the ban on stage dances. Stage-drama producer Zaheer Hussain Adil moved the appeal. Earlier, a single bench on November 12 had imposed a ban on songs/dances in stage dramas, declaring them an un-Islamic act. The petitioner’s counsel, Imran Aziz Khan, submitted that the judgment of the single bench was in conflict with an earlier judgment of the LHC, which, according to him, stated that songs and dances in theatrical performances might not be entirely banned. The counsel said that the single bench, while deciding the matter, ignored the fact that the government, in its May 17, 2008 notification, had banned songs and dances in only fou

First three songs are American Princes, and the last one is Lucero, which is probably a little too country-ish for most people I know. I love it, despite the fact that I really really dislike country music.
