Personalized Bobblehead iPhone Holder (Yes, Someone Went There)

What do you get for the Apple lover who has everything? This. You get them this. It's a personalized bobblehead iPhone holder. The subject sends in three different shots of their face, chooses the skin, hair and eye color, and through the magic of...well, we don't know exactly how they're built...a figure arrives that looks somewhat like someone, somewhere. But there's more!

Scripting In Commodore BASIC For Windows & Linux

SomeoneGotMyNick writes "Someone more nostalgic than I am, and with a lot of time on their hands, had created a scripting language based on Commodore BASIC for Mac OS X. They recently finished a version that works on Windows and Linux. You can pass the text of a BASIC program as a parameter to the program. I found it odd that it took 1.8 MB of source code to compile to an interpreter that used to fit in 8K of ROM space. If this ever becomes popular, perhaps we'll see Obfuscated CBM BASIC contests." In a simliar vein, in the comments someone points out what is essentially an open source AmigaOS Classic.

Save a life with your iPhone or iPod touch

If you came upon someone who was injured or had suffered a medical emergency, would you know how to react? In the midst of a crisis situation, even citizens who have been trained in first aid sometimes forget what they need to do to help save a life. Several iPhone apps are now available to give you a hand. PhoneAid , First Aid , and 1st Reponse: Emergency Kit are all designed to be at your fingertips in the event of an emergency. Although it might be difficult or impossible to read an iPhone screen and perform CPR at the same time, the apps can help you or someone else give instructions in a panic situation. Entanke's PhoneAid (click opens iTunes) provides verbal prompts telling you how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the Heimlich Maneuver on adults and children.

Microsoft: 'We're Beating the PlayStation 3 in Europe'

What week of news would be complete without someone from one of the Big Three not talking about how they're beating the pants off someone? At this rate, we may never find out, as Chris Lewis, interactive entertainment boss for

Peak oil, Part I: Best of the Boards/Blogs

Like it or not, in the financial world everything is someone else’s liability and every financial asset has default risk. Even cash under the mattress is someone else’s liability… it’s the liability of the central bank. Which is why nobody should be breathing a sigh of relief that central banks are now guaranteeing everything. They guaranteed all bank deposits. They guaranteed money market funds. They guaranteed interbank lending. But at what cost?...” – From

Video on Mobile

We've been providing this type of technology for more than 2yrs now. While it is very compelling and impressive, the average consumer is not quite yet embracing these types of features. First came the idea that you could just 'call someone' , then , with the advent of text enabled phones, 'text or email' someone. Then with the camera enabled phones people started to take picture and send that. With video enabled phones there is a slightly higher bar in terms of quality, staging and cost that must be meet. We are utilizing the literally 'built-in' feature of most 3G handsets which is the videocall to offer the same kind of instant videoblog and instant livestream without ANY hassles to the user. No applications, available on literally EVERY 3G phone and downstream compatible with the common PC user on Flash.
