Philips CEO says needs to "right size" in some mkts

NEW DELHI, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Dutch conglomerate Philips Electronics needs to "right size" in some markets and is shifting resources to developing countries, its chief executive said on Friday. "We have to right size our workforce and we are proactively doing that," Gerard Kleisterlee told reporters in the Indian capital. "As any company, we also at this moment are very tight... I cannot exclude that." Kleisterlee said Philips had no plans for across the board job cuts but was shifting resources to developing countries from developed countries. Philips last month posted sharply lower third-quarter core profit, missing forecasts, partly hurt by its normally resilient healthcare unit as orders in the United States slowed due to the financial crisis.

Black Holes May Not Grow Beyond Certain Limit

xyz writes "Do black holes increase in size indefinitely? According to an analysis by astronomers at Yale and the European Southern Observatory, the maximum size a black hole may reach is only few tens of billion of solar masses. The limit was calculated using an analysis of what may happen to the gas surrounding a black hole which has reached few tens of billions of solar masses. It is thought that black holes of such size heat the surrounding gas to a temperature where the radiation pressure begins blowing outer layers into space."

A font size fix for Banjo is in the works

While playing the recently released Nuts & Bolts demo, you may have noticed the rather small font size. Or, more appropriately, you might have not, given the stalwart backlash from the community after giving up squinting at their small CRT sets.
