And yes, you can make authentication exceptions for non-authenticating devices like printers, servers, etc.

Amazon.com's Web site experienced problems in North America for more than two hours in the middle of the day Friday because of system issues, the online retailer said. Shortly after 10 a.m. PDT, the company's retail Web site shut down, giving an error code to anyone visiting it, according to Keynote Systems, a California company that measures Web site performance. The impact on sales from the blackout was not immediately known. Shawn White, Keynote's director of external operations, said an error in the configuration of the Web site might have caused the shutdown. The Web site was back up to 60 percent capability around noon. By 1 p.m., it was at 100 percent, White said.

Someone was able to access the site and change the "read more" link to connect to an outside site that was in a foreign language, said Sara Hammond, spokeswoman for the mission being led by the University of Arizona.

A colleague of mine has a site. When we type site: www.thesite.com and enter we get the list of webpages with title and description. But after the title we are getting a line that the site may harm your computer. Why is this ? Also they dont have a cached version of it. I am as such reluctant even to open the site becos of this warning. I have gone thru google advice on this and have asked the person to thoroughly check all pages for anything wrong with the coding. I think they are in process and also they had written to the mentioned link given in Google's pages but no response so far? Has anyone experienced this before and have idea what to do?

Auction site sued for Ab King Pro fakes

An importer is suing online auction site, TradeMe, over the sale of counterfeit goods. Brand Developers is the licensed importer of Ab King Pro exercise machines. It claims that thousands of counterfeit machines were sold through the New Zealand-based site, which is owned by Fairfax Media. It is suing TradeMe for an undisclosed sum in damages because it claims that the trading site did not do enough to prevent the sale of the counterfeit goods.
