Sony confirms movie download service coming for PS3 Sony has confirmed that it will be bringing its anticipated movie download service to US PlayStation 3 users this summer. Update: Sony has no partners yet for movie download service Yesterday, Sony confirmed that it was bringing a movie download service to US PlayStation 3 users. Today however, new reports have surfaced implying that no movie studios have yet to strike distribution deals with Sony for the new service, meaning the movie catalog for the service could be small to start.

Beijing. May 23. INTERFAX-CHINA - Google is to launch a mobile phone advertising service covering mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, local media reported today. John Liu, vice president for greater China sales of Google, announced in Taipei that Google would partner with Taiwan operators Chunghwa Telecom and Far EasTone to deliver the service in Taiwan, Sohu reported. Liu did not reveal which operator Google will work with to provide this service in mainland China. In April 2006, Google launched its mobile phone advertising service in Japan, cooperating with wireless operators NTT DoCoMo and KDDI. eBay's online payment service PayPal launched its Pay Later service on eBay.com yesterday. Amazon.com (NSDQ: AMZN) is launching its new streaming online movie and video service tomorrow...the new service is called, surprise surprise, Amazon Video on Demand. Some details of the service were inadvertently pre-announced by CEO Jeff Bezos at the D conference in May. It will be available at Amazon.com/VOD when it launches...well, not yet fully. The New York Times reports that Amazon has begun a limited testing of its new Video on Demand service, which will replace its Unbox store. The significant difference between the two is that the new service will stream movies through your browser rather than requiring you to download them and use Amazon's video player.
