Biological Sciences in LIGHT

The cross-faculty nature of LIGHT is represented by both the collaborations within Multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Research Centre and the co-location of researchers from the Faculties of Medicine and Health and that of Biological Sciences in the LIGHT laboratories. Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation announces major prize in the chemical sciences

(Nanowerk News) The Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation announces the establishment of the Dreyfus Prize in the Chemical Sciences to recognize an individual for exceptional and original research in a selected area of chemistry that has advanced the field in a major way. The biennial prize of $250,000 is the one of the largest awards dedicated to the chemical sciences in the U.S. The first prize is scheduled to be announced in April 2009.

Nanotech Sciences cancels Natcore acquisition

Nanotech Sciences Corp. is terminating the letter of intent dated June 17, 2008, as amended, pursuant to which the corporation had conditionally agreed to acquire all of the issued and outstanding securities of Natcore Technology Inc. as its qualifying transaction (see news in Stockwatch). The corporation terminated the agreement because it was unable to satisfactorily complete its due diligence review of Natcore. The corporation's board of directors have determined that they can not proceed with the transaction as presently structured and that it is in its best interests to terminate the agreement and to resume the process of identifying and evaluating businesses and assets with a view to completing its potential qualifying transaction.
