Gaming on the iPhone and iPod touch could be great with the addition of a gamepad handle: the promise of the iControlPad comes to mind. But the iPhone platform doesn't deserve two giant foam handles that do nothing but ruin the sleek lines of the device, providing no buttons, no extra battery life, and no added functionality. Hell, the thing doesn't even look comfortable to hold. It's available for pre-order now and costs a whopping $50. For foam. [Crunchgear]

The debate about whether free shipping is a short course to ruin, or an important driver of sales, rages on. Many believe that free shipping belongs in the realm of the 'big boys' and that it's nigh-on impossible for small to medium sized businesses to compete, especially in light of increased transportation costs.

If you couldn't make it to Times Square this morning, the clip above shows what happens when humans become vending machines. Yes, it was a stunt put on by Uniqlo, and no, it didn't ruin shopping forever. It's actually pretty great; first you get your body scanned to reveal your hottest and coldest parts, then no matter the result, a human trapped inside a box delivers you a warm HeatTech shirt. Uniqlo has other demos planned in Paris, Shanghai and Seoul, but if you won't be in any of those places, at least you can rest easy knowing that you'll still have a job when the robots take over. I don't like starting arguments in pubs with people I don't know - not because I'm particularly averse to arguing, more because they might try to beat me up. However, I'm fairly certain that nothing I could say in such a pub argument would lead to the relevant person stalking me and trying to ruin my life. Either I'm safe, or I'm attacked and possibly severely injured - either way, unless I decide to go all vendetta-y, this is the end of the dispute between me and my assailant.

Eos Wireless core system The design of the Eos Wireless from IntelliTouch is brilliant, as there is a removable wall mount on the speaker that plugs directly into an electrical outlet. The speakers have a 150-foot range from the iPod dock and produce quality digital audio for multi-room sound throughout your home. Most digital speaker products have interference created by Wi-Fi products that can ruin those favorite songs. This interference is not an issue with IntelliTouch’s GigaWave error correction technology.

"Here is the base, the insulation tape all over the place is to hold down the connectors that I won’t be needing. The motors all contain encoders which I didn’t just want to rip out, so I’ve preserved the connectors for future usage, and just cut the - and + cables in a way that they can easily be reconnected to the connector if I ever want to. They were expensive motors so I didn’t want to ruin them!
