ET Net News Agency, 7 November 2008> BNP Paribas cut its target price for Angang Steel (00347) to HK$3.8 from HK$6.3, and retained its "reduce" call. Due to rigid iron-ore costs, the house said Angang is most likely to lose money in 4Q08 and 1Q09. It estimated its cash cost will be Rmb3,750/tonne in 1H08, and its iron-ore cost (bought from the parent) will go up by 23% to Rmb970/tonne in 2H08. BNP cut the company's ASP and margin assumptions in 2009 and 2010 to reflect sharp cyclical downturn risk. It also reduced EPS forecasts by 50.4% in 2009 (to RMB0.62) and 47.3% in 2010 (to RMB0.66).
