Portable accessory manufacturer USBfever on Friday unveiled two new products that it certifies work with the iPhone 3G: the iPod Wired Remote Control, and the FM Transmitter with Handsfree. The iPod Wired Remote Control offers both iPhone and iPod users a lapel-pinnable remote for controlling songs, with a built-in pass-through for headphones. USBfever is selling the iPod Wired Remote Control is available for $15 through its website.

Despite only launching this morning, the iTunes App Store already features a list of top free applications for download, starting off with Apple's own Remote app. Remote allows users to control iTunes or music through an Apple TV directly from their iPhone or iPod touch, in addition to AirTunes-connected speakers. AOL and Facebook round out the top three apps with AOL Instant Messenger, and the Facebook contact viewing/management/interaction application.

Apple TV's onscreen keyboard is an exercise in stress management, especially with its morsel of a remote. A report from the MacRumors blog shows supposedly leaked details of Apple's plans to allow the iPhone and iPod Touch to act as an in-home remote control for iTunes. The App store went live a few minutes ago and the remote app we saw last week went live as well. It controls your iTunes through a screen that looks just like the regular iPhone/iPod touch player, and it only works through Wi-Fi. You can control AppleTVs, too, and you can also control speaker output.
