WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital information industries, today announced it is extending its successful "Don't Get Mad, Get Even" anti-piracy campaign in its fight to help protect consumers who purchased illegal software online. The campaign allows buyers who purchased counterfeit software on auction websites such as eBay to get even with a fraudulent seller by reporting them to SIIA, which will then pay them up to $500 to purchase a legitimate copy of the software.

Patriot Scientific Corporation (OTCBB: PTSC) has announced that Royal Philips Electronics has purchased a Moore Microprocessor Patent (MMP) Portfolio license from the TPL Group to cover its recently acquired business unit, Respironics, a leader in the respiratory supplier market. Copyright Clearance Center, a provider of copyright licensing solutions, announced the beta launch of Ozmo, a web-based service that allows independent content creators to license the use of their work for commercial purposes. Ozmo allows artists and writers to select their license terms and set the price for the use of their content. CCC handles the licensing process and all payments go through Amazon’s Flexible Payment Service when a license is purchased. Content creators can license as much content as they want. Payment is collected from the buyer when the rights are purchased. Ozmo supports the Creative Commons CC+ protocol for bridging the gap between commercial and non‐commercial licensing. Content creators can apply the Creative Commons link for non‐commercial use, and the Ozmo link for commercial use.
