To curb the adrenaline rush that is the PS3 firmware update, we wanted to let you know ahead of time that version 2.53 will be released tomorrow and it's not a huge deal. All it will add is full screen Adobe Flash support to the PS3 web browser—which would be a fantastic update if we ever browsed the web on our PS3. [PlayStation via Kotaku]

Playstation 3 bundleCompetition and technological advancement have once again pulled through for the consumer. Just in time for the holidays, Sony announced a new 160GB Playstation 3 (PS3), as well as a price drop for the 80GB PS3. The 160GB PS3 comes as part of a limited time bundle which includes the console, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune the game, a PSN voucher for PAIN and a DUALSHOCK3 controller. The memory upgrade is a doubling of the previous model, and with the extra space, users will be able to store all their photos, videos, games, television shows, and movies with less worry about capacity. At $500, this is a steal. Speaking of steals, the older 80GB model’s price goes down by 100 dollars to 399, what the 40GB model costs. If you were waiting, you hopes just got answered.

Looking to get a Playstation 3 for as low as $200? Who isn't! Amazon is hosting a pretty amazing deal which could land you an 80GB PS3, a PS3 game and Bluray movie set for either $199 or $229, depending on which of three sets you choose. But there's a catch: You have to vote on which of the three sets Amazon should offer to get a chance at the discounted price. If your vote made it into the majority, you'll be put into a 500 person draw to snag the PS3 at its bottom of the barrel pricing. So it's not the easiest deal to score but hey, voting costs you nothing, right? Might as well give it a go. Round one of voting ends on Wednesday, Nov. 26.[Amazon via PS3fanboy]

Am I the only one a little surprised to see that the Tomb Raider Underworld is selling better on PS3 than 360? Yes, you could argue that 360 owners have simply too many games available at the moment - including exclusives like Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 – and that Lara has to join the queue. Plus 360 owners do – as a stereotype – prefer their shooters to their platform puzzle games. But PS3 owners have got exclusives like LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2, as well as access to most of same third party games that 360 owners have. So why has Lara proved more popular to PS3 owners than 360?

THQ has confirmed that a PS3 version of Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon will in fact be available in Europe. It was only yesterday when the troubled publisher admitted that the PS3 version was cancelled – in America at least – due to “development issues”, thus making it a 360 exclusive.
