India:Credit Suisse predicts 50 pct cost overrun for delayed greenfield steel projects

Tata Steel’s three greenfield projects have witnessed a cost escalation of over 50 per cent, or nearly Rs 35,000 crore, according to a recent report of global financial firm Credit Suisse. The new projects in Jharkhand, Orissa and Chhattisgarh have been delayed 2-3 years due to land acquisition problems, in line with other mega steel projects announced by global giants such as ArcelorMittal and Posco.

MALSF Science Review 2008 Publication Available

PR - The Marine ALSF has published the findings of over £4 million of research related to marine aggregate dredging for projects undertaken during FY2007/08 (administered by the MEPF and English Heritage) based on the proceedings of a two-day conference held in Essex in February 2008.
