Tata Steel’s three greenfield projects have witnessed a cost escalation of over 50 per cent, or nearly Rs 35,000 crore, according to a recent report of global financial firm Credit Suisse. The new projects in Jharkhand, Orissa and Chhattisgarh have been delayed 2-3 years due to land acquisition problems, in line with other mega steel projects announced by global giants such as ArcelorMittal and Posco.

PR - The Marine ALSF has published the findings of over £4 million of research related to marine aggregate dredging for projects undertaken during FY2007/08 (administered by the MEPF and English Heritage) based on the proceedings of a two-day conference held in Essex in February 2008. The heads of the USPTO, JPO, EPO, KPO (Korea) and SIPO (China) have just finished a two day meeting in Jeju, Korea. The five offices – together known as the IP5 – have agreed a work-sharing initiative that, according to a press release put out by the EPO, is aimed at: “The elimination of unnecessary duplication of work among the offices, enhancement of patent examination efficiency and quality, and guarantee of the stability of patent rights.” They have also announced the creation of 10 so-called Foundation Projects, each one of which is designed to help “harmonize the search and examination environment of each office and to standardize the information-sharing process”.
