Open-source phone getting WiFi sign-on port

Hacker Holden Karau is porting the Devicescape Connect WiFi sign-on client to the Linux-based, open-source OpenMoko Neo Freerunner phone. The port, which uses the FreeRunner's new Qtopia-flavored stack, could turn out to be the first commercial application ported to the FreeRunner, says Karau.

Robosoft ports Battlestations Midway to the Mac

Robosoft has announced its latest work in porting Battlestations Midway game to the Mac. The port uses a combination of OpenGL and great developer tools from Apple, according to Rohith Bhat, MD and CEO, Robosoft Technologies.

Cyan developers planning iMyst for iPhone

Three UruLive developers are in the process of porting the original Myst game to the iPhone as part of a side project. While details are sparse, a Cyan employee with the moniker of Chogon reveals that the so-called iMyst is an outside project, independent of Cyan. Chogon notes that while some may roll their eyes, the project is responsible for keeping several developers employed, while also allowing Cyan to expand its reach to other platforms.

Gears of Wars 2 not coming to PC

In an interview with IGN, Epic's Cliff Bleszinski confirmed that Epic will not be porting Gears of War 2 to the PC platform:
