My DVD tray pops in and out, and I do not know why. Someone told me that it could be a virus. It is only one year old. Any advice? Thanks, Aurora

You've got to love these Nokia utilities that get unofficially shifted from one device to another. Multiscanner, a dual purpose card scanner and general text optical character recogniser (OCR), is taken from the E71 and E66 but seems to work well on other S60 phones, according to Symbian Guru. I did try it on the N82 but the brightness of the flash made the OCRing of text too tricky, it seems. Strike one for LED flash after all?

One of Motorola's newest handsets, the MOTOZINE ZN5, has recently popped up on Sprint's accessories website, according to a Thursday report. As neither the carrier nor Motorola have yet announced a CDMA version of the GSM-only handset, the appearance tentatively supports the existence of a device with both the different calling standard and EVDO onboard. While no other information is available, the Sprint-branded handset is expected to share features with the GSM ZN5 already offered by T-Mobile.

netbuzz writes "The state of Washington is suing a search engine optimization and Web services outfit, based in Redmond, that has done business under the names Visible.net, Captures.com, and WebMarketingSource.com. In essence, the state says these entities have deceived mostly mom-and-pop sites through unfulfilled performance promises and financial shenanigans after charging up to $10,000 in up-front charges and more in monthly fees. About 90 complaints have been lodged over four years, the state says."

I am not afraid.” It’s a beautiful phrase that pops up defiantly and sporadically all over global pop culture, from skate to rock, from fashion to hip hop. It’s invariably an expression of outsiderism and, precisely because it’s not the kind of phrase that the mainstream consumer media are likely to appropriate, it’s usually an authentic, emotionally stirring sentiment.

When Terry Weaver wants to create .Net applications, he fires up Visual Studio and types away like any other .Net programmer. The setup gets a bit weird when he wants to test how the .Net application might appear to a Mac user visiting the Web site. Instead of starting up another machine, asking a colleague with a Mac, or simply ignoring those crazy followers of Steve Jobs, Weaver just pops over to the browser in another window. That's easy because Visual Studio is running on Windows inside a Parallels virtual machine, which, in turn, runs on his Mac. He has a PC, a Mac, and a Unix development box all in one.
