Hermitage Paintings Found in Moldova, President Says

ST. PETERSBURG—The president of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin, announced Friday that two paintings from the Hermitage Museum in Russia had been found in his country and would be returned, reports the New York Times via the Associated Press. However, Voronin did not name the works, and the press office at the Hermitage said they didn't know what paintings he was referring to.

New exhibition of landscape paintings for Mount Grace Priory

English Heritage is delighted to host an exhibition of landscape paintings by Jane Thorniley-Walker at Mount Grace Priory near Northallerton. Jane’s exhibition, which runs from May 1st until June 30th, is the second of a diverse series of art exhibitions, planned for Mount Grace in 2008, and is only the second professional exhibition by this emerging artist. The exhibition called, Landscapes of the North Yorkshire Moors, features a collection of large-scale oils, pastels and watercolours, including some dramatic paintings of the Priory itself.
