Imagine. Imagine you have already achieved all there is to achieve. Done everything. Seen everything. Been everywhere and put your winkie into every possible orifice known to man, and a few only known to the more attractive animal species (I'm looking at you, you sexy zebra).

Chris Reid, the recently dumped Conservative candidate in Toronto Centre, believes socialism has turned us into a nation of effeminates. How else, the long-time Tory activist argues, can we explain how a deranged killer managed to decapitate someone on a Greyhound bus? It turns out that it's not the killer's fault. It is the fault of the limp-wristed schmucks who were trying to catch some shut-eye between Portage la Prairie and Brandon, Man.

Quite a bit happened Tuesday at T-Mobile's conference introducing the G1, the world's first Android-based phone. Sure, it offers GPS, apps, and an open platform to make every iPhone lover cringe, but one major announcement that many have glossed over is the inclusion of Amazon.com's DRM-free MP3 store pre-loaded on each Android phone.

Will Self hates you. No matter who you are, no matter what you profess to believe, he can't stand you. As an accomplished satirist, he's entitled to hate you, but you're entitled - perhaps you should even be encouraged - to hate him right back.

There are 12 million reasons why Marten Mickos isn’t afraid that his rivals in the database software industry will ever overtake him. “Let them try,” he says brazenly of his competitors. “Our secret is in the way we operate our culture, and I’m convinced others cannot imitate that.” MySQL AB, the business Mickos has built since 2001, has committed itself to “open-source” innovation since its founding, giving 12 million coders — who typically receive no compensation — permission to debug, add features or otherwise modify the product before redistributing it.

As a Mac user who used to use Windows exclusively, the idea of a BSoD (Blue screen of death) was terrifying and is now hilarious to me. Thus, when I found this how to that makes your 404 page look like a BSoD, I couldn't resist it. Granted, creating a useful 404 page is better for your readers, but this page is hysterical.

A bit of background: [redacted]'s Marketing department is about to re-launch the public website. And they chose to create the new version in Sharepoint, so that each department can maintain its own sections. For example, my department handles the Jobs section. Forget whether or not I think this is a good or bad idea, because I have no say in it. So anyway, we're in the process of building our sections, using the templates provided to us by IS, who built them for Marketing.

Oh, my, this is a sad robot. It's a robotic plant, and all it does is nod at you when you talk to it. Apparently designed for the loneliest people on the planet, it provides as much comfort as an inanimate object designed to move up and down automatically can provide. It makes me sad to even think about some poor shut-in using this. [BBC via TokyoMango]
