June 10, 2008 - The NPD has released its top 10 best-selling PC games list for the week of May 25 to 31. Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures continues to hold its first place spot for two straight weeks. The MMORPG made its impressive debut on the NPD sales charts last week. BioWare's Mass Effect action RPG, released May 27, makes its first appearance on the list and grabs the second spot. While certain games have shifted positions on the list, the real noteworthy change is the fact that Crytek's Crysis FPS once again slips out of the top 10 while Stardock's Sins of a Solar Empire strategy game reappears on the list at number 9.

Too simple? After seeing yesterday's NPD numbers and hearing about them from all the companies, each has their own spin on what went down last month. Nintendo (rightfully so) chose to gloat about how well the Wii is selling. According to NPD, the Wii outsold the 360, PS3, PS2, and PSP during April. Even better for the company, it held the number two spot in hardware sales with its DS platform.

A failing economy is beginning to have serious impact on the US cellphone market, says the NPD Group. For the first time since it began recording such figures, NPD writes that sales dropped in the first quarter of 2008 to 31 million, a decline of 22 percent compared to the same quarter a year ago. There has also been a substantial shift in marketshare, with Chicago-based Motorola continuing to dominate other companies, but slipping from a control of 35 percent to 27.
