Apparently, it's hard to get corporate sponsorships in this tough year for the economy. So the film festival may ask the state of Utah for financial aid. Organizers recently met with state officials and said the film festival is good for the state's economy. An official with the Governor's Office of Economic Development responded that everyone is having a tough time right now.

I cannot help feeling every time a cloud parks itself over our boat 'why us?' The wind drops, starts shifting in funny directions and then sometimes dies altogether leaving you feeling nervous that you are losing miles to all your competitors. I am sure that everyone one in the race so far has had the fair share of clouds and squalls to deal with, but it still doesn't help at the time.

NEW YORK (Agencies): Circuit City Stores has filed for bankruptcy about a week after it said it would close 20 percent of its stores. The Richmond, Virginia-based electronics retailer has been struggling as nervous consumers spend less and credit has become tighter. It filed for bankruptcy protection on Monday. Chapter 11 protection typically allows a company to hold off creditors and operate as normal while it develops a financial reorganization plan. Circuit City says it has more than $1 billion in assets and more than $1 billion in liabilities. Courts do not require companies to provide more specific figures in filings. The company says it anticipates it would have money to distribute to unsecured creditors, who get paid last.

It’s funny, somewhere in the YO! archives there’s a blog written by yours truly around December 2007, or maybe January of this year, where I explain why I’m politically “apathetic”. Today, almost a year of campaigns and politics later, I’m at my wit’s end, on the edge of my seat in a nervous sweat, anything but apathetic about tomorrow’s election day.
