What I Hate About My Android G1

"1. Poor Bluetooth Management: When attempting to pair the G1 with the nav-system in my car while I had the currently paired Motorola headset in my pocket, the G1 refused to let go of the headset and pair-up with the nav-system which had been previously paired-up. I nearly wrecked my car about three times while trying to get it to accept this simple, obvious command. Bluetooth pairing with devices to which the G1 has already been paired (i.e., the access code has already been given and it has been told to remember the pairing) ought to be a simple matter of touching the device to be paired on the screen. This is a major problem that ought to be resolved by the folks at Google, or HTC, or T-Moble."

As the entry-level model in the Sony NAV-U line of portable GPS devices, the NV-U44 has a fairly basic feature set. There's no Bluetooth hands-free. There's no traffic information. There's no multimedia playback. For your $249 dollars, the only feature that you get beyond basic navigation is a photo viewer.

Depending on how you look at it, the NV-U84 is either the second or third highest device in the Sony NAV-U GPS lineup. There's no question that the NV-U94T is the flagship, but determining the NV-U84's value compared with its siblings is a tricky affair.

It has been an exciting 24 hours with two of the fleet in view, Green Dragon on one side and Puma on the other. We are approaching a gybe and everyone is playing their own little strategies, some high and fast some going lower and slower so it makes for an interesting time in the nav station constantly monitoring our performance trying to stay on top of the changing conditions.
