We've put enough time between us and the month of October that we can once again take a look at how videogame sales did that month thanks to today's release of NPD sales data. Beginning as always with hardware, the big winner this month was Wii in terms of both number sold and increase from last month. Though the order remains the same as in September, the Xbox 360 also saw a small boost in number sold. Every other system dropped, including a considerable 40,000 less for the PlayStation 3 despite multiple major software releases (including two console exclusives) in October. Perhaps global economic problems mixed with Sony's lack of a price drop is really starting to affect sales of the system? Take a look at the numbers below and decide for yourself.

Net Applications numbers for October show a small retreat to 8.21%, but the data regularly see-saws from month to month. Still, if we add in iPhone users (0.33), then OS X-powered devices account for more than 8.5% of online traffic, which is about where things were last month.

SHANGHAI, Nov 12 (Reuters) - China's central bank is expected to auction up to 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) of three-month bills in its regular open market operations on Thursday at a yield of about 2.60 percent, traders said on Wednesday. Most said that the auction result would drop about 23 basis points from the 2.8275 percent yield at the last auction for such bills sold two weeks ago, which remains well above the secondary market yield on bills with the same tenor, and from 3.0310 percent in the previous week. But a few traders expect the auction result would come in even lower, within a range of between 2.40 and 2.50 percent after steep falls seen in short-term bill yields in recent weeks. The indicative three-month bill yield in the secondary market fell to a 21-month low of 2.
