Sony Electronics has added two new models to its family of S-Frame digital photo frames—including the company’s first 10-inch model here at the PhotoPlus Expo trade show. The new 10-inch and 8-inch digital photo frames (models DPF-D100 and DPF-D80) have high-quality SVGA resolution (800 x 600 pixels) LCD screens. They are Sony’s first digital photo frames that offer a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Sony recently announced two new models in its VPL line of LCD-based projectors for education. The new models--the VPL-FX41and VPL-FX41L--offer higher light output than other models in the VPL-F series (the FX40/L and FE40/L) and are designed to support networked fixed installations.

Sony’s Z Series televisions are the first models in the world to feature a 200 Hertz refresh rate — twice the rate that current top-of-the-line televisions refresh at Sony calls its system ‘Motionflow 200Hz’ — an evolution of its original 100Hz ‘Motionflow’ technology. There will be three Z Series televisions: a 52in model is the largest available, while 46in and 40in models are also being released. The Z Series televisions will be available in all major Australian electronics stores by the end of the month, making them the first on the market with 200Hz technology. Sony’s 52in model will be priced at $5099, while the 46 and 40 inch models will be priced at $4099 and $3399, respectively.

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- In coordination with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), LG Electronics USA Inc. has revised the energy ratings on five current refrigerator models. Refrigerator testing rules used by DOE have been in place since 1979. In light of different applications of these rules in the appliance industry to today's advanced products, LG has proactively worked with the DOE concerning the test standards. Based on guidance from the DOE about its interpretation of the testing rules, the energy rating has been changed for five current LG "French Door" models with ice and water dispensers in the door: LFX23961, LFX25971, LFX21971, LMX25981 and LMX21981. For these models, LG is voluntarily suspending its participation in the Energy Star program.
