Sansa rolls out 8GB version of its tiny 'Clip' MP3 player

I'm rather a fan of Sansa's tiny 'Clip' range of MP3 players. Although their album-on-a-microSD-card concept is idiotic, their MP3 players are very good, and the miniscule Sansa Clip, with a (relatively) massive clip on the back, is one of the best. Good news then - Sansa has just launched an even bigger version, taking the size up to 8GB. Skip related content

T-Mobile rolls out Samsung Gravity QWERTY phone

Today T-Mobile announced the Samsung Gravity, a candybar cell phone with a convenient slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The Gravity also sports a microSD card slot for storage expansion and Bluetooth with A2DP support for stereo headsets, which should add up to a decent portable music experience.

NEWS: Vodafone launches Stick Pro USB modem

This new stick is apprently designed for "high performance use" and has a sleek black design, a space saving retractable USB connector and also comes with an integrated 4GB microSD memory card.

MP3-Based SlotMusic Format Coming This Week At $14.99

New York — The world’s four largest music companies will begin this week to ship almost 40 music albums in the new SlotMusic format, which consists of a $14.99-suggested 1GB MicroSD memory card containing MP3 files with no digital rights management (DRM) restrictions.

Samsung Gravity touches down

The messaging phone is a dead ringer for the LG Rumor, in both features and design. Highlights include a slide-out alphabetical keyboard for rapid messaging, a 1.3-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, a speakerphone, organizer features, and a microSD-card slot. The Gravity (aka the SGH-T459) is Samsung's third messaging phone since October after the Propel and the Rant.

Motorola MOTO VE240

Motorola has outed its MOTO VE240, a candybar cell phone for Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS here in the United States. The VE240 covers basic messaging and calling functionality and also offers a music playback with its built-in MP3 player. A microSD card slot is available for expanded storage, and Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP support for stereo headsets is also on-board.

Nokia 6600 Slide

In terms of looks, mid-range phones are getting rather nice, as the 6600 Slide shows. The external hardware design is neat and pocket-friendly and battery life is good. However, Nokia could have offered more built-in memory and repositioned the microSD slot so that it doesn't lie under the battery. The camera is a bit of a let-down, too.

Samsung Gravity QWERTY cell phone now available

T-Mobile is now making its new Samsung Gravity messaging phone available for purchase. It features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a large a 2" color display. A 1.3 megapixel camera and camcorder are also on board, coupled with a microSD card slot for extra storage.

Manual Firmware Upgrade for Impatient G1 Owners

If November 11th seems like way too long to wait for T-Mobile's RC29 upgrade for the G1, there is a way to manually force an upgrade. It's awfully easy, too: just download the update, move it over to a MicroSD card, and the hard work is pretty much done.

Phone review: Samsung Sway for Verizon

Love the LG Shine but want to stay with Verizon? The Samsung Sway has the Shine's silvery good looks and slim build, making it one fashionable phone. The Sway SCH-U650 is a slider phone with a 2 megapixel camera, music player with Rhapsody support, SDHC microSD card slot and stereo Bluetooth. It has 1x for data, but no EVDO or streaming V Cast multimedia.

Samsung a777 3G slider reaches AT&T

A part of a recent leak, the Samsung a777 has surfaced on AT&T's website without a formal announcement. The quad-band slider phone includes 3G over the carrier's network as well as a 1.3-megapixel camera with 3X digital zoom and support for Bluetooth with stereo audio. An MP3 player app and microSD storage handle media playback.

JVC Everio MG730 too expensive for a standard-def camcorder

It's not that the JVC Everio GZ-MG730 camcorder isn't good. The body is compact and comfortable to use. It produces solid-quality standard-definition video, and due to its 7-megapixel sensor you'll get above-average still photos out of it, too. There are manual controls for photos and video, a built-in flash for photos, and a microSD slot for additional storage beyond the internal 30GB hard drive. Dock and remote are included.

Samsung Behold SGH-T919 Available Exclusively from T-Mobile USA

The Behold is available in a brushed espresso or light rose finish, comes with the virtual QWERTY touchpad and multiple messaging capabilities, including text, multimedia messaging, instant messaging, e-mail and Audio Postcard support. In addition, the microSD memory card slot allows for easy storage of videos, images or music up to 16 GB.

Samsung Gravity ships for T-Mobile...

T-Mobile this afternoon shipped the second of its November phone updates. The Samsung Gravity is T-Mobile's rough equivalent to the Rant and gives non-smartphone owners a lateral slide-out QWERTY keyboard for quicker messaging: outside of e-mail, the phone comes with built-in support for AIM, ICQ, Windows Live and Yahoo chats. A 1.3-megapixel camera, media playback with microSD storage and stereo Bluetooth audio put it in the middle of T-Mobile's lineup.

E-Matic's MP3 Player Also Takes Photos, Confusingly

In a move that's like product convergence from the other direction, Ematic's taken a normal low-end MP3 player and...um...bolted in a digital camera. It's got a 2-megapixel sensor, 2.4-inch color screen and can even record video. There's 4GB of internal memory, which you can share with MP3s, video files and your own recordings, and it's got a microSD slot for expansion. And if all that seems bizarrely much for a small gadget like that, you'll love it's price: $60. [ShinyShiny]
