BEIRUT: The Progressive Socialist Party's (PSP) information officer on Friday said in comments published Friday the PSP met with Hizbullah at State Minister Talal Arslan's residence in Khaldeh. In an interview with the Al-Liwaa newspaper, Rami Rayess said the meeting, which took place last Wednesday, did not bring together PSP leader MP Walid Jumblatt and Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. "We are open to any meeting that contributes to cooling the internal atmosphere and promoting reconciliation," he told the daily. Rayess said his party planned to continue its good relations with Arslan, but warned against the dangers of the escalating political rhetoric of the opposition. Rayess also warned against "any intention among the March 8 forces to disrupt democratic practices under various pretenses.
