Blog :: Google's Share Prices And The Markets Crisis

If you've invested in Google's stock, this is bad news for you. However, there is a brighter side to this, and no, it isn't Schadenfreude. I'm looking at it in a more rational way: the only way to recover from a bubble era is to let the bubble burst and allow sanity and reason to come back to the markets. This is the case in real-estate business; it's just as true in the IT sector. Once Google reaches a realistic price, this will indicate that sanity has returned to markets. Why am I picking at Google? Because Google is the flagship of the Web 2.0 bubble. It plays a similar role to that of Amazon and eBay in the bubble 1.0 days.

=DJ WORLD FOREX: Dollar Steady Vs Yen After BOJ Rate Cut

By Dan Molinski OF DOW JONES NEWSWIRES NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The dollar was little changed against the yen Friday after the Bank of Japan cut interest rates, but not by quite as much as markets were hoping. Japan's central bank cut its benchmark rate by 20 basis points to 0.30% in an effort to encourage lending and spark growth in the country's struggling economy. Markets were expecting a 25 basis-point cut, so the disappointment pushed Tokyo's stock market lower. That caused modest risk aversion, which pushed the low-yielding yen higher across the board as global currency investors dumped their bets on higher-yielding currencies that were funded with loans from Japan. "In truth, a 20 basis point cut is likely to do little for the domestic Japanese economy," said Dustin Reid, currency strategist at RBS Global Banking & Markets.

Markets welcome Touch-screen BlackBerry

Markets welcome Touch-screen BlackBerry On Friday, Research In Motion Ltd. unveiled its first touch-screen BlackBerry device in the U.S. market. The launch saw long queues of customers standing in lines to grab their very own touch screen BalckBerry Storm. However, the question still remains that how will the new touch screen BlackBerry Storm compete against its biggest rival Apple-iPhone.

Markets caught on the hop by Bank's courage

You can rely on the financial markets to do the unexpected. The conventional reaction of share prices to an interest rate cut - especially one which takes official UK rates down by 1.5 points to 3% - ought to be a rally.
