Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III Review

Just posted! Our in-depth review of the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, Canon's flagship full frame digital SLR and the current 'big daddy' of the professional DLSR market. As well as upping the resolution to a class-leading 21.1 megapixels the Mark III boasts a raft of improvements and refinements over the Mark II, the camera it replaces. We've been using the EOS-1Ds Mark III for over 8 months now, and finally got the review finished this weekend. So, apologies for the 'better late than never' timing.

A new venture in blogging for America

In commenting on liturgical readings and feasts of the Church, I have found myself wishing that I could 'say more' or better, 'say more systematically'. So, what I have been given permission to do is offer a systematical run through Mark's Gospel (later, other New Testament writings), following the Gospel as Mark has laid it out, chapter by chapter. The hope is that a fuller understanding of the purpose of Mark and how he achieved his purpose will ultimately serve to clarify each story of the Gospel. That is, we will be able better to understand a passage by having better understood the purpose of the entire work and how the passage fits into that purpose. I will offer a blog every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, beginning September 1; we begin with Mark 1, 1.

Attention Please - a new blogging plan

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I will discuss a portion of the Marcan Gospel (to be followed eventually by Luke-Acts). I will follow the Gospel chapter by chapter, thus in a systematic way. This means that I will not be commenting on liturgical texts or feasts of the Church. Because others do commenting so successfully on this blog site, I wish to offer something more systematic and at the same time show why and how Mark's Gospel was put together. Will following the Gospel from beginning to end aid preaching and prayer? I hope so, because I am convinced that understanding the goal of the Gospel and the stories that Mark chose to reach that goal - that all this will help everyone understand any particular passage or story of that life. I hope you will find this treatment of Mark's Gospel useful; let us see what we can accomplish.
