Panasonic Lumix FZ28 review

PanasonicPanasonic Lumix FZ28 review : One year after reviewing the LUMIX FZ18, we now turn to the Panasonic LUMIX FZ28. The Panasonic FZ28 Megazoom remains compact yet offers a huge zoom range of 18x. The resolution has increased from 8 to 10 Megapixels, and the range reaches a fraction wider angle (27 mm) and a bit less telephoto (486 mm). Besides that, the resolution of the video mode has increased to 1280x720 pixels and pictures can be viewed on a slightly larger 2.7 inch LCD monitor. Marginal differences, however, reason enough for Panasonic to introduce the LUMIX FZ28 this year.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 Digital Camera Review

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 is a 10.1-megapixel point-and-shoot camera that has plenty of features in its arsenal. When we saw the Leica 5x zoom lens with a 25mm wide angle focal length and the large 3” touch sensitive screen, we were happy to investigate further.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 non-DSLR hands-on preview

If you thought you would have to wait a while for the first fruits of the recent announcement of the launch of the new Micro Four Thirds non-DSLR interchangeable lens system camera platform, you might be surprised to hear that Panasonic Lumix has today announced its first Micro Four Thirds camera, accompanied by two lenses, and they are expected to ship in November, well in time for Christmas.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 Review: World's First Micro Four Thirds Digicam

Companies that aren't Canon or Nikon have it rough in the digital camera market—particularly outside the cheap point-and-shoot area. Some band together for strength in numbers, creating cooperative standards like Panasonic, Olympus and Leica's new Micro Four Thirds system—a spec for smaller cameras with digital viewfinders like a compact, but interchangeable lenses, manual controls and higher performance like a DSLR. We tested Panasonic's 13-megapixel Lumix G1, paying close attention to the fact that it's the first contender in a totally new camera category and—like that other G1, the Android smartphone—it sets the stage for what's to come.

Just posted! Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 Review

Just posted! The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 is that most unusual thing, a compact digital camera that has really caught the imagination of photographers. Moving away from the quirky 16:9 sensor of its predecessors, (the LX1 and LX2), this latest offering matches a bright 24-60mm equivalent zoom to a conventionally-proportioned 11 megapixel sensor. Just to keep things interesting, the sensor is then cropped in three different ways to provide a consistent diagonal angle-of-view in three different aspect ratios. So what did we make of the LX3, competitor or curio?

A revolution is afoot, and Panasonic is leading the rebel movement. After pioneering the Four Thirds sensor size along with Olympus, that non-conformist couple is now trying to thrust Micro Four Thirds upon the world, and the Lumix G1 is the first ‘MFT’ camera trying to prove its merits.

Lumix_dmcg1 When Panasonic announced the Lumix DMC-G1 (click on the image at right for a closer look) in September, it was hard to classify—was it a digital SLR camera, a point-and-shoot, or an entirely new camera type?
