(RTTNews) - Monday, digital media company DivX Inc. (DIVX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), lowered its earnings and revenue guidance for fiscal year 2008, following a notification from major advertising customer, Yahoo! Inc. that it intends to end the two-year advertising services agreement announced jointly in September 2007.

Best Buy Lowers Guidance, Fate Of Mobile Push Unclear

Best Buy shocked the market yesterday when it said it was lowering guidance for the holiday season and called the current environment “the most difficult climate we’ve ever seen.” It’s still unclear whether the company will scale back any of its growth plans, including its aggressive push into mobile. The company’s COO Brian Dunn said that while Best Buy needs to manage costs, it is still “preserving key growth initiatives.” So, the big question is whether the retailers undertaking in mobile qualifies as a key growth initiative? Vodafone lowers FY outlook, updates strategy

Vodafone Group has lowered its outlook for revenues in the fiscal year to March 2009 due to the economic slowdown in Europe. The mobile operator now expects annual sales of GBP 38.3-39.7 billion, down from an earlier outlook of around GBP 39.8 billion. The company left its adjusted operating profit outlook unchanged at GBP 11.0-11.5 billion, supported by cost reductions and foreign exchange effects, and slightly increased the free cash flow target to GBP 5.2-5.7 billion.
