Palm Treo 850 Photo

BGR is at it again with new pictures of the real Palm Treo 850. This looks like a slick device although the keyboard looks very cramped. When the original Treo 600 came out the keyboard was so cramped they had to expand it and curve it a little. Why would they go back to a cramped keyboard? We'll see how bad it is when it's released, but the rest of the device looks good.

Hubble looks through the 'north pole' of the Milky Way

The geometry of the Milky Way leads to an anistropy in the clarity of images we are capable of capturing. If one looks in certain directions, the view will be slightly obscured by what is known as the galactic plane. The Milky Way, and other similar galaxies, are relatively flat and the bulk of their non-dark matter—gases, stars, and dust—lie in a geometric plane. Even if one uses a space-based telescope, images taken looking at low galactic latitudes will be obscured by our galaxy's dust. New images from the Hubble, recently released, looked as far away from the galactic plane as possible, pointing all the way to the galactic north pole; they show a clear image of many galaxies that exist in the Coma cluster.

RedLasso To Networks: Bloggers Love Us; Brings In Ex-CBS Vet As Advisor

It looks like RedLasso, the fast growing video embedding service, is ready to play a game of high-stakes brinksmanship with the networks. Last week CBS (NYSE: CBS), NBC and Fox demanded that the company stop making their content embeddable without their permission. RedLasso’s response: It will continue to make its site available for use by bloggers, even as it works toward a mutual agreement with the networks. In its defense, Red Lasso is invoking the First Amendment right of bloggers to comment on and re-purpose news clips as they see fit. How will this go over with the networks? Probably not good, and the company looks to be laying a lot on the line with its strategy. On the other hand, if the video embedding service were to pay the ultimate price, it could at least go down as a latter-day Joe Hill, remembered in blog posts, if not ne

$100,000 kitchen like a work of art

I know what a $100,000 car looks like (a 2008 BMW 650i). I know what a $100,000 house looks like (a modest Toronto bungalow, circa 1979). But a $100,000 kitchen?

Minireview: Ladybug Speaker Dock for iPod

Wouldn't it be great if looks really were everything? Imagine if Paris Hilton were the US President. Instead of a quagmire in Iraq, the worse you could expect from the chief executive would be DIY Internet porn and 40 days jail time on DUI. Unfortunately, looks aren't everything--not for comely blondes painted gold selling canned wine, not for anthropomorphic portable speakers painted silver--but the eye-catching look of the Vesatlife Ladybug speakers did get a listen from me.

Woman's 'Wing House' takes flight in Malibu

MALIBU, Calif. - The neighbourhood already has a house that scientists say looks like a giant atom smasher, and nearby there is another that is perched on a cylindrical tower and looks like a flying saucer. Yet when Francie Rehwald moves into her new digs sometime next year, she'll have them both beat.

Breaking news: New 3G iPhone photos leaked

Konami Claims Rock Band Violates Its Patents

Just a few months ago guitar maker Gibson sued just about everyone for patent infringement over a patent it held on "virtual concerts." It looks like that lawsuit may have woken up others who happen to hold "virtual concert" patents. Video game maker Konami, which had some virtual concert games years ago, also happened to get some patents on the concept and have now sued Harmonix, the makers of Rock Band. Once again, this looks like a "losers litigate" strategy. Harmonix has created a hugely successful product in the space -- Konami has not. Yet, Konami wants a cut of Harmonix's profits. That's not the sort of incentives that should be encouraged.

Palm Treo 850 Image Unmasked

Treo 850 PictureThe seemingly unending source of mobile device revelations that is the Boy Genius Report has uncovered and posted the first set of spy shots of the Palm Treo 850. The device looks to be a manifestation of the previously detailed model codenamed Palm Drucker. At first glance, the device looks to be a welcome depart from the usual Treo stylings and presents a more modern look with a blend of design cues from the Centro. The device would also confirm that Palm has an additional model on tap, in addition to the Treo 800w, first seen last week.

Googlenomics, Shrugged

Come the morning of September 7, you’ll probably go to the Google search box and find a fun-loving in-house artist has replaced the first “o” in the company name with a symbol that looks like a “1” and the second “o” with a slightly altered version which looks like a zero.

Hands on: Asus P320 mini PDA

It was just a week before when Asus announced its mini PDA phone 320 for the Indian market and we have got our brief hands on the device. It is the smallest PDA phone from Asus and it really looks classy and suave. In my opinion, it looks better than HTC Touch.

JVC NX-PN7 dual iPod speaker now available

Back in January, JVC unveiled the NX-PN7, an iPod speaker system with not one but two iPod docks. The company sent out a press release today to announce that the NX-PN7 is officially available. Otherwise, it looks like nothing's changed since the unit's coming-out party six months ago. Despite doubling down on the music players, the unit is just 13 inches wide. In addition to being able to toggle between "iPod A" and "iPod B," the NX-PN7 features a clock, an auxiliary line-in, and a horizontal light beneath each iPod dock that can be set to any one of nine colors. It has a sleep timer, but apparently no alarm. The list price is $150, but it looks like Amazon is already selling it for closer to $130.

Looks like No stores are

I don't know the way to find out which one is removed, because its slot might already be filled with other ads.
