Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels is pleased to announce the sale of the fee simple interest in the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport on behalf of its owners, Kor Hotel Group and its partners. The hotel was purchased by Chicago-based Harp Group and its equity partners Fidelity Investments Real Estate Group and Blue Vista Capital Partners. The hotel is strategically located on West Century Boulevard next to Los Angeles International Airport. Jones Lang LaSalle’s Real Estate Investment Banking team, led by David Christensen and Jeffrey Davis, also secured $65 million in acquisition financing for the Harp Group and its equity partners for the $97 million buy.

Artist Explores Dreams for Fame and Profit

Performance artist Nancy Lang (29) sat down with the Weekly Chosun to discuss her wide range of activities. Lang hosts culture and arts programs on KBS 2TV, Christian broadcaster CBS and English-language station Arirang TV. She will also take part in the 2008 Asia Art Network "Emerging Asia" show to be held July 15~29 at KEPCO Plaza. And in addition to her TV work and exhibitions, she also works as an art director for a fashion brand and a model for product advertisements.

Clothing store opens bar in middle of sales floor (AP)

CLEVELAND - A Cleveland clothing store wants to make sure its customers are comfortable, so it has opened a bar in the middle of its sales floor. M. Lang Executive Attire owner Mike Lang said he hopes the cash bar will not only help put shoppers in a relaxed mood to buy clothing but also will encourage people to hang out at the shop with their friends.

The singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen has returned to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland for his first concert there in 23 years. Cohen played his hits "Suzanne" and the much-covered "Hallelujah," as well as the lesser-known "The Future." The four-time Grammy winner Erykah Badu opened the event. Joan Baez, k.d. lang and Sophie Hunger played an all-female night, while Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan and Angelique Kidjo will perform at a 75th birthday celebration for the music impresario Quincy Jones on July 14. Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Paul Simon and Pete Doherty's band Babyshambles will also be playing at Montreux. Organizers say they expect 220,000 people to visit the festival, which opened last week and ends July 19.
