Very cold ice films on interstellar dust particles are found in the universe but detailed information about the films' structure is not readily available, scientists say. Now state-of-the-art technology is giving researchers a heads- up to create ice films in cold conditions similar to those found in outer space, and examine the molecular organisation. Check out the Mobinnova ICE! You may not have heard of Mobinnova before, but they're the manufacturer responsible for the iMate Ultimate 8502 and 9502 Windows Mobile devices. Now they're releasing their own branded touch-screen device called the ICE. It's got a 3" flush touch screen, accelerometer, 256MB ROM/128MB RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM Radio, TV-out, GPS, MicroSD slot, Triband 3G, Quadband GSM, and a custom interface running on top of Windows Mobile 6.1. It looks also has a secondary OLED (128x96) display that's used for directional buttons, media player buttons, and a camera button depending what task you're performing. The screen resolution is the same as the Omnia - 400x240.

Ninety bathtub toys were hurled into a drainage hole on the Greenland ice in September—an experiment to see how melt waters find their way to the base of the ice sheet. It was hoped the ducks would flow along subglacial channels and eventually pop out into the sea. They may still, but nothing has been seen of them so far.
