A retired Kingsville, Ont., bookkeeper with a painting hobby has created a canvas that appears to be a landscape up close, and an image of Jesus Christ from about three metres back. Jackqueline Whitson did it without even trying. The 64-year-old had been working on the painting on and off for months, but it was not until Dec. 7 -- a Sunday -- when her husband, Harold, discovered the face of Jesus. It was the first time he had caught a glimpse of the painting from a distance. "He literally jumped out of his seat," Ms. Whitson said. The couple refrained from telling anyone about the phenomenon at first, for fear they might appear crazy. "Real Artwork Series - Godzilla 1954 3-D Poster Art" is based on the successful landmark1954 "Godzilla" japanese science fiction film directed and co-written by Ishiro Honda with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya, produced and distributed by Toho Company Ltd. It was the first of many "giant monster" movies (known as kaiju) to be produced in Japan, many of which also feature Godzilla. "Godzilla 1954 3-D Poster Art" is (11 ½" H x 8 ½" W x 6 ½" D) Polyresin poster fully painted and comes in a closed box with a custom base for display. This figure will be limited to 500 pcs worldwide.

twitter writes "Bruce Perens has pulled the plug on Technocrat.net. 'The technocrat.net public discussion site is shut down. This has happened because the site never achieved the ability to financially sustain its editorial staff and system expenses with its revenues. When it became evident that Technocrat was un-viable as a business, I found that I did not wish to keep supporting the site as a hobby. Certain elements of the community that developed here, unfortunately, creep me out. At the end I faced the decision of asking for donations to keep the site running, or letting it die, and it became clear to me that I'd feel better if it would just die. I am very busy building a new software business, with some great new (and yet unannounced) Open Source software in development.
