The filing describes a system where a 'pump ... coupled to the heat pipe is configured to circulate the liquid coolant through the heat pipe.' All claims of obviousness aside (after all, PC enthusiasts have been using liquid and phase-change cooling for years), the existence of the patent application seems to indicate that laptop manufacturers are in agreement with physicists and engineers who say we are running up against the practical limits of air-cooling such compact pieces of equipment."

A new official Metal Gear website by Konami has sent rumour mills spinning with word that the cryptic message is a sign that the next instalment will be coming to the Xbox 360. AT&T Hints At Replacing Java With Symbian In The Future

imageFor all the hype about the rise of operating systems, one more carrier is hinting at plans to pare down the number to just one or two OS choices for its company-branded device lineup. AT&T’s Roger Smith, director of next-generation services, said Symbian might become the OS of choice for future phones offered by AT&T under its own branding, CNET reports from the Symbian Partner Event in San Francisco. Such a move could spell an end for Java phones at AT&T (NYSE: T).
