This weekend, Twitter admitted that it is the most recent target of a phishing scam, and warned users to be wary of messages that redirect them to a look-alike sites and ask them to login using their username and password. Twitter co-founder Biz Stone wrote on the company’s blog: “We’ve identified a phishing scam directed at Twitter users and we don’t want you to get tricked into giving your password to a scammer.” The scams being sent out by email look like email notifications you might receive when you get a direct message, and say something like: “hey! check out this funny blog about you…” or “Hey, i found a website with your pic on it⦠LOL check it out here.” The link provided redirects to a site that looks like Twitter’s front page, but has a slightly different URL.

"iLinux would sell me more than one Apple product. In fact, if iLinux were a reality, I would rebuke all other hardware and software in favor of it. For now, iLinux is a figment of my own imagination. I think Apple should develop it for its fleet of products from its iPod to its iPhone, to its iBook, iMac, and iWhatever. Linux runs on almost anything and iLinux could power everything Apple."

iphone ad.jpgThis past summer, AT&T promised an iPhone for prepaid customers -- with no long-term contract -- "in the future." Because AT&T isn't subsidizing the phone, it would cost $599 for an 8 GB model or $699 for a 16 GB unit.

I've got a few New Year's resolutions for 2009, like sticking with more edamame and fewer shrimp tempura rolls topped with spicy tuna (which Ichiro on New York's Upper East Side mysteriously calls a Manhattan roll). I've got even more resolutions for digital media -- including those for me, for the industry at large and for certain key players.

Hey faxers, don't get too excited, but Panasonic will be releasing a paperless fax machine before the end of January. The bad news? For the moment, it's Japan-only. I'm actually quite surprised that it's taken the human race this long to develop a machine that sends faxes without actually having to feed in paper.

Hey, you guys seem like bright, honest people. So why do you allow posts containing links to virus and hoax anti-virus? Specifically, the post by Tyronn Frentz on Dec 22, 2008 re Puget Sound contains a link to tds.ibestadult.info/in?4 which redirects to netsecurityonline.com. This site is a scam that displays a fake anti-virus scan and forces you to download software. It is listed on McAfee.com Site Advisor as a virus site. GET RID OF IT if you want people to take your site seriously.

hey all, i'm new to this site, and to most pocket pc's and such. I just bought myself a Magellan Maestro 4250 GPS, and was reading up on what sort of things it was capable of doing. As a little background, it runs off of Windows CE 5.0, and so far i have loaded up File Manager on it, and thats about it. I was following these instructions on how to hack this thing: Step 1 back up all of the orignal files on the Magellan Note that in that walkthrough, he is using a 3100, but all the Maestro models use Windows CE 5.0, so it doesn't matter that mines a higher model.

Hey Carlton, witty comeback. So what, I left an I out of armchair but you should check your own grammar before bagging others. I wasn¿t aware that Australia was surrounded by four walls; I certainly didn¿t notice them on my twenty something flights in and out. Go back to your knitting classes and leave the great game of cricket to those who appreciate it.
