Halo 3 multiplayer Mythic Map Pack Xbox 360 Screenshots

Halo 3, the hugely anticipated sequel to the highly successful and critically acclaimed Halo franchise. Enthusiasm for Halo 3 has been building since its predecessor, Halo 2 launched by Microsoft Game Studios in 2004 — rewrote history books by becoming the biggest launch in U.S. entertainment retail history, with $125 million in sales and 2.4 million copies sold in the first 24 hours. In this third chapter of the Halo trilogy, Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax.

Sony May Never Have a Halo Killer

It seems like every time an exclusive first person shooter is announced for the Playstation 3, it is instantly dubbed as a "Halo killer" by anticipatory Sony supporters. The original Resistance: Fall of Man comes to mind. While it may have sold well, and established a respectable fan base, it in no way "killed" the Halo franchise. Haze is another game that was hyped up beyond belief, and was also given the title of "Halo killer." That game was met with average reviews, and didn't seem to slay the mighty Halo series, either. Along comes Resistance 2. It looks promising. The graphics have received a considerable upgrade. The scale in the campaign is much larger, and the multiplayer supports up to 60 players, and is very addictive and fun. If anything could kill Halo, it would be this game, right? Nope.

Price Slashed on Halo: Combat Evolved for a Week

It started with Halo and it ends with Halo: The final Holiday Deal of the Week on the Xbox Live Marketplace has been announced by Microsoft and it’s a price slash on Halo: Combat Evolved from 1,200 points ($15) to 600 points ($7.50). 1,200 points is the standard price for all Xbox Originals on the Marketplace -- a price many would say is far too high for Xbox games that could be bought for far cheaper at GameStop or on eBay. But at $7.50, this is a pretty decent price for a brilliant game, and you also get the benefit (and the drawbacks, like not getting any physical items) of owning a game digitally.
